“Open for Business” is more than just a fast phrase – it is an attitude towards how the City of London should be approaching business.
I am Paul Cheng and I want to be your Mayor.
Today I am asking you to support Paul Cheng as the next Mayor of London because I want our wonderful city to be world class, equitable, with opportunities for ALL Londoners. I will have an open-door policy and welcome input from London citizens on an ongoing basis. I will meet with the community on an ongoing basis. I will work with City staff to provide a forum where all Londoners can be heard and share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns as they arise. I want real and meaningful public input. I want City Hall to develop a better connection to the citizens it serves. I want to be your voice, the voice of the people, at City Hall.
Cheng for Change!
Vote Paul Cheng for Change!
Does London deserve better transit? Yes – absolutely! It is clear that London needs and deserves better transit; however, the current Bus Rapid Transit Plan (BRT) does not deliver better transit. An effective model should benefit all Londoners and make sense. BRT does neither.
I have been so blessed to be in a business that took me all over the globe and allowed me to immerse myself in other cultures. I have gained a wealth of experience and insight, from a global perspective. No matter the politics or the position: everyone has something of value to contribute, if you just look for it and work with them. Academically, I started in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto but ran out of money after two years. My Dad said he could find me a job as a dish washer but I said “thanks Dad I would like to try something else.” I arrived in Edmonton in the late 1970s and found work in construction within days. Alberta was booming and my work there set my career path. While I eventually returned to school and received my undergraduate degree, a B.A. in Economics and Geology, and then received a Master’s in Business Administration, I continued to be engaged with the oil industry.
