Cheng Speaks Out Against Yellow Journalism in the London Media

The London Free Press smears Paul Cheng again, 72 hours prior to election:

Cheng speaks out against Yellow Journalism in the London media.

For the second time in 72 hours, the London Free Press (LFP) has printed unfounded allegations regarding Mayoral Candidate Paul Cheng. These allegations are speculative and untrue.

Paul Cheng’s campaign expenses are within the legal limits of campaign expenditure. Cheng’s campaign is in full compliance with the Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that tainted journalism has been prevalent in the LFP against Cheng’s mayoral campaign. In 2014, various unfounded articles were printed about Cheng, without substance, only innuendos. These articles were printed days before the election in an attempt to smear his character.

Media news articles, as opposed to editorials and opinion pieces, are supposed to be objective and factual. They were not by the LFP. This is very concerning of the political landscape here in London. The media should refrain from swaying the public in a bias manner. Instead, let the people choose the best candidate to lead our city.

A Press Conference will be held this afternoon.
